Completed equinox resin driveway 2 - Costessey

Resin Driveway Renovation

Our clients in Costessey, Norwich was looking for a complete renovation and overhaul of their driveway. The main requirements for this project was low maintenance and looked great; the best answer was a resin bound surface. The old driveway was overgrown

To start this project our team cleared off the old driveway area. We also removed old fencing, hedging, bushes and lawn. All of these were cleared away from site, leaving a fresh canvas for our team to work with. Starting on the driveway our team laid terram matting down at the very base of the driveway, this will prevent weeds to grow through the driveway in the future. The next component for the base of the driveway is type one granite, this was laid on top of the matting and will allow surface water to drain through.

Creating the frame for the driveway was the next job that was completed, this was achieved by laying charcoal chelsea set edgings around the driveway and pathways. This will also set the levels for the finished driveway and allow the resin aggregate mixture to bond. Finally to complete the foundation of the driveway, our team laid open textured tarmac base on top of the granite base. The open texture will also allow the surface water to drain through. Before our team lays the resin aggregate, we installed all of the closeboard fencing with concrete posts and gravel boards on the boundary line of the property.

Once all of the preperation work had been completed, our team could look to add the finishing touches to the driveway. We started by laying 20mm natural stone over the old lawn area, which was laid on top of terram matting to prevent weeds from coming through. The final part of the project was to lay the and smooth over the resin and aggregate mixture. The aggregate used was Equinox, and both resin and aggregate will arrive on site together. This is continuously mixed until laid.
