New lawn turf and Modak paving - Lowerstoft

Full garden renovation in Lowerstoft

We were tasked to come and breathe new life into our customers garden with a complete garden renovation; which required the use of hard and soft landscapes. This entailed new garden fencing, fresh lawn turf being laid, a planting area being created and a patio being installed.

We started the job by removing the whole of the garden area. This included removing the old patio, ripping up the old tatty turf and deconstructing the old fencing. By doing this it has given us a fresh canvas to work with.

The first stage of creating the new garden area, we laid burnt amber block sets. This gave a definitive area for: the planting beds, lawn area and patio. Next we moved on to installing the Modak patio area. To start the installation with we laid a new hardcore base; raising the levels to the customer requirements. Then we laid the Modak Indian Sandstone paving, with all joints filled and pointed.

A  step was required for the access to the conservatory, by using the Modak slabs we were able to provide a decorative step whilst matching the paving area. We encountered an issue with the neighbouring wall, as rough brick work was exposed at the bottom. Using our cunning initiative we installed a shelf area using the Modak slabs; to ensure that our customers garden looked every bit perfect.

The next area of the garden renovation was the turfing area. We started by laying top quality top-soil, that had been screened to 10mm ensuring good drainage and a level area. Following on from the top-soil, we laid new fresh lawn turf for the instant lawn effect. The surrounding beds were dug over, allowing us to mix in compost and ensuring that the soil was oxygenated. We then planted a wide selection of three litre sized shrubs with a 75mm covering of mulch; this was done to suppress any current and future weeds.

Finally to complete the garden renovation, we had to install new garden fencing. First we installed new 8ft concrete posts and 150mm concrete gravel boards. Next we mounted the closeboard fencing on top of the gravel boards, ensuring that our customer had privacy for their garden area. Once completed we ensured that we left the site clean and tidy, with a big smile on the customers face.
