With soft landscaping attracting your attention now spring has sprung – are you forgetting about your hard landscaping?

With spring now well advanced your garden should be full of colour and demanding your attention. Perhaps those seedlings you’ve carefully nurtured are now ready to be planted out and the grass definitely needs cutting!

But this may also be the time to think about what other people can see with fresh eyes, things that maybe are not on your ‘radar’ anymore. So as well as the soft landscaping tasks you’ve already made a note of – what about those hard landscaping tasks, such as your garden fencing? Is that looking good, or does it need your attention too?

If your garden fencing is in good order you may want to consider looking after it with good quality wood preservative. This really only needs to be applied once every couple of years or so and it really does help to preserve it against the elements.

If however your fence is looking a little tired you may want to consider replacing it with brand new fencing that with look good and last years. This will prove to be a sound investment, especially if you’re spending time and effort on soft landscaping – or if you’re looking to sell in the near future.

Garden fencing comes in many forms, from simple post and rail to decorative brick with close board infill. In between there are a number of other forms including lap panel.
